New Online Education for Hospital Care Managers

New online training designed to build critical skills for care managers in hospitals or acute-care settings was launched today by Care Excellence, a case management education initiative founded by the California State University Institute for Palliative Care.

The new Care Excellence for Hospitals curriculum addresses some of the most pressing challenges that hospitals and health systems face in today’s evolving market: complex care coordination; population health services; the shift toward value-based payment models; and the need to develop and retain a case management workforce.

Developed in collaboration with the California Hospital Association (CHA) and experts in hospital case management, the courses are highly interactive, affordable, and mostly online, with an opportunity for additional in-person group training.

Care Excellence Delivers Training Solutions for Care Managers and Health Plans

Americans are living longer and the workforce is aging – meaning that there is an urgent need for highly skilled care managers and care coordinators. Care Excellence is a practical and interactive training solution, delivering a multi-pronged approach to train and retain care managers, and enhance their skills.

Care Excellence helps care managers meet the needs of large, diverse populations with special and complex needs. Funded by the California Health Care Foundation and The SCAN Foundation, the Care Excellence curriculum is designed to train care managers from various practice settings.

Motivational-Interviewing-Landing-PageApril 13, 2016 – San Diego, CA https://careexcellence.org/. Care Excellence provides in-depth curriculum with a multi-pronged approach designed to train, keep, and improve the skills of care managers at all levels of experience. You may access the wide range of curriculum by purchasing the entire series, an individual course, or a specific module.

Care Excellence Foundational courses from May until December of 2016. The Leadership courses will begin in June and continue to roll out through the end of the year. In 2017 we will launch our Advanced courses from January through May. Please sign up for our newsletter or download the flyer to stay informed!

There are three educational levels, designed to give your case management team, the specific information and training they need.

The Three Levels Include:

Foundational – This level teaches essential skills to those of all disciplines and new to care management. And for those with some experience, this series provides a solid a review of fundamental knowledge and skills.
