Case Managers Share Ideas, Skills and Strategies to Advance the Field

As an exhibitor supporting the event, Care Excellence Relationship Manager Brandon McDonald said it was exciting to hear experts speak on the challenges, victories and opportunities emerging in the field, and to share conversations with so many care managers committed to growing in their careers and better serving vulnerable patients.
Many of the topics discussed at the symposium – from motivational interviewing, to multi-cultural aspects of case management to social determinants of health – are reflected in the Foundational and Advanced Concepts care management training offered through Care Excellence.
Focused on Improving Care and Managing Healthcare Costs
“There was so much energy at the conference focused on building skills like motivational interviewing. It was fantastic to be able to tell people ‘We have exactly the training you need!” said McDonald. “Anytime you’re connecting with other professionals focused on a common goal of improving care and managing costs, it’s an amazing thing.”

Care Excellence has utilized a team of nationally recognized care management experts to create a curriculum that works for all levels of case management professionals, from beginners to mid-managers to leaders. All Care Excellence courses are approved by CCMC to provide Continuing Education hours for Certified Care Managers (CCMs.)
The importance of continuous learning was recently underscored in a blog post by CCMC Chief Industry Relations Officer Vivian Campagna, highlighting how her passion for case management has grown since her initial certification 25 years ago. “That’s because certification is just the beginning. Case managers must invest in continuous learning to keep current. Ongoing certification elevates the importance of ethical practice, quality care and a safe, person-centered experience for everyone— clients, clinicians on the team and employers.”
Care Excellence is proud that so many organizations and care managers trust us to deliver that continuing education. We’re looking forward to the CCMC’s 2019 New World Symposium near Washington D.C. See you there!
